Vampires! Everywhere we turn in the modern west they are skulking about, searching not just for blood but for the denigrating of the youth’s notion of love and lust. Writers ought beware of what impact they have by sodomizing the West’s mind with cock-eyed fantasy of bloodlust, literally. I can’t imagine the lady who wrote Twilight still being smitten with her product. It must be horribly embarrassing knowing you were a critical inflection point in the corruption of love as we know it.
The Vampire Empire exists like Philip K. Dick’s black iron prison of Rome, screen-burnt onto the American psyche, subtler than the average citizen can detect. With a subtle instrument (or just a critical theory education), one begins to see vampires everywhere, namely in the dating market. Bella was her name and she had to CHOOSE between TWO gentleman. One, of course, was a pasty 156 some-odd years old, and the other was a stand-in for a native american. Bella, being freshly acquainted with high school, was a stand-in for the author’s perversions, inevitably and inarguably. The myth of vampire demands redemption from that woman’s series, and beyond listening to the song below, I’m curious what others might think. Am I off base or striking a rich vein? God bless and speed!
